Our Favourite Things Art Gallery

Opening reception Thursday April 4th from 4-6 pm Lori Meeboer is a nationally recognized painter living in Corbyville Ontario. Lori paints the Canadian landscape in her unique mosaic style and captures the unique Canadian experience. Fred Rutherford is a portrait and nature photographer in Corbyville Ontario who is well known for his joyful portraits and breathtaking landscapes. Fred has a talent for capturing priceless moments in time. Together, Fred and Lori have created a show titled « Our Favourite Things ». Join us for the opening of the show on April 4 to see this collaboration of some of their favourite local, regional and truly Canadian moments

Gallery 121 Early Spring Show

GALLERY 121 PRESENT THEIR EARLY SPRING SHOW, March 12th – April 20th Our Guest Artist is Lynne Vegter. Her life-like oil paintings are transportive; often taking you to her cabin studio on Lake Waslekoon where she spends much of her time painting and taking photos that capture the wildlife, and glistening lake surroundings. Lynne comes to us from the Bancroft area where she has been involved with several galleries as well as teaching classes and participating in lobbying activities to benefit both the wildlife and environment. Our Featured Member Artist is Larraine Milligan. Larraine is a new member to 121, but she is far from new to the art world. As a member on the board of Theatre on the Wings and a prolific artist, she has shown in a variety of different venues. She describes her art in in four words: female figure, narrative, and line. Paintings consisting of one or several of: cold wax, original charcoal lines and oil, challenge the viewer to decide on the narrative beneath her female figure’s presentation. A wonderful show. Please join us for our opening reception March 16th, 2-4 p.m.

Art Business Mastermind Group

Art Explorers Academy 54 market square, Trenton

This group is for those who own a creative business or who are planning to start one. We will discuss a different topic related to running a creative business every week, then share experiences, troubleshoot, goal set and work in good company. This is not a class (although there will be learning!) – it is more of a club or support group. Dates: Friday April 5, 12, 19, 26, May 3, 10, 17, 24, June 7, 14, 21 (11 weeks) Time: 1:00 – 2:30 starting $10/ week

Young artists will explore their creativity through different techniques and mediums. We will be learning the fundamentals of drawing, understanding light and shadow, learning basic rules of composition, and using the elements of art and design in a supportive and encouraging environment. All materials will be provided. Come join our 8-week art sessions to explore, learn and create in drawing, painting, collage and 3d for ages 5-8 and 9-12.  Session fee, $150. Open Studio at Art Explorers Academy

Open studio sessions are unstructured opportunities to make art in a fully equipped art studio. Use our materials and get hands-on guidance and advice to help bring your vision to life. Relax and have fun with the creative process and let us clean up the mess! *Please note: the thursday session of open studio is for adults. Child friendly open studio sessions are available on Saturdays from 12-2pm Thursdays between 2 & 4pm $10/hr (entry fee includes the use of basic art supplies like acrylic and watercolour paint, brushes, pencils, markers, stencils, etc.. You can bring your own canvas or sketchbook or purchase a canvas from the studio for a small extra fee. Paper is free)

BONES: April Art Class for teens (ages 14-17)

At Art Explorers Academy, teens expand their art skills through both technical instruction and conceptual challenge. This month students will be creating artworks inspired by the theme: Bones. We will look at reference materials, make sketches and plans for our finished artworks and then move to working on canvas. Students will have the opportunity to use acrylics, inks, drawing, watercolours and collage in their final pieces and will be given individualized expert guidance to realize their vision by a professional mixed media artist. 4 weekly sessions of Level 4 Art Classes costs $100 and includes all materials (or $25/week) Register in person or online Dates: Thursday April 4, 11, 18, 25 Time: 4:30-6:00
