Spotlight: The Lark

Prepare to be charmed by The Lark in Belleville’s Downtown District – first by its modern yet friendly vibe, then by its playful and locally-sourced menu, creative cocktails and wine offerings.

This relative newcomer on the Belleville restaurant scene has developed a devoted following in a few short years by offering tapas and shareable appetizers designed for social eating experiences as well as larger entrees and specials. The restaurant has a strong focus on sustainability, local/seasonally-driven foods and features a large list of natural, organic and biodynamic wines.

Much of The Lark’s inspiration comes from Alex Bruce, who co-owns the restaurant with his wife Celine Bruce Lepage. Alex is a Certified Sommelier and has won a number of awards for his cocktails. In 2019, he was named one of the Top 30 under 30 by the Ontario Hostelry Institute (OHI). The couple first moved to Prince Edward County before settling in Belleville and have become strong supporters of the city’s burgeoning culinary scene.
