FALL SHOW – GALLERY 121 – OCTOBER 7TH – NOV. 15TH, 2025 RECEPTION SATURDAY OCT. 18TH, 2025 The members of Gallery 121 are excited to show of their new works of art alongside those of Kayo O’Young, a famous potter and a well-known realistic, artist from Hastings. Kayo O’Young is recognized as one of Canada’s finest porcelain creators with his works being featured in two films. His pieces are unique in style, minimalistic, intriguing, inviting and fired with hand made glazes. These pieces may be found in some of the most prestigious museums and galleries in North America. The realism and luminosity found in Barb McGuey’s oil paintings is spell binding. Barb’s focus is on the natural world through landscapes, flowers and animals. The Featured Member Artist for this show is Terry Hart. Terry uses natural beeswax that has been heated and applied to a board where it is fused, carved, and coaxed into landscapes, abstracts and city/rural scenes. Please join us for refreshments and meet that Artists at a reception on Saturday Oct. 18th from 2-4 p.m.

Hands In Commemoration De’VIA Exhibition

JOHN M. PARROTT ART GALLERY 254 Pinnacle Street, Belleville

The Quinte Arts Council is honoured to celebrate Hands in Commemoration, a landmark festival recognizing our local Deaf culture and the deep significance of the Sir James Whitney School for the Deaf in our community. At the heart of this festival is the powerful exhibition of De’VIA (which stands for Deaf View/Image Art) at the John M. Parrott Art Gallery. These works affirm Deaf identity, share lived stories, and celebrate American Sign Language (ASL) as both a language and a vibrant cultural expression. The exhibition will be on display until October 18th.

Heritage Walk – Belleville’s Charming Old East Hill

Corner of George and Queen Streets Queen Street and George Street, Belleville

Following the success of the two previous walks, join us at 2:30 on Saturday, October 18, for another stroll along Bridge Street and its cross-streets to view some more magnificent mansions built in this leafy area in the late 19th century. The commentary will include both architectural notes and stories about some of each house’s inhabitants through the years. In Part 3, we will meet at the corner of Queen Street and George Street (parking is possible on either street) and take in George Street and John Street. At the end of the walking tour (around 4 pm) attendees will be invited to a local hostelry for refreshment. The Architectural Conservancy of Ontario encourages the conservation and reuse of structures, districts and landscapes of architectural, historic and cultural significance, to inspire and benefit Ontarians. The local branch is the Prince Edward County branch, and it holds many exciting events each year to inform and educate its members and the public about the built heritage in the region and its historical and architectural value. With finely drawn characters, it’s both a modern morality tale and a mystery wrapped in a seemingly ordinary family story. “After Graduation” by Beth Milligan is short and sweet and as funny as…well…you’ll just have to see it.
