FALL SHOW – GALLERY 121 – OCTOBER 7TH – NOV. 15TH, 2025 RECEPTION SATURDAY OCT. 18TH, 2025 The members of Gallery 121 are excited to show of their new works of art alongside those of Kayo O’Young, a famous potter and a well-known realistic, artist from Hastings. Kayo O’Young is recognized as one of Canada’s finest porcelain creators with his works being featured in two films. His pieces are unique in style, minimalistic, intriguing, inviting and fired with hand made glazes. These pieces may be found in some of the most prestigious museums and galleries in North America. The realism and luminosity found in Barb McGuey’s oil paintings is spell binding. Barb’s focus is on the natural world through landscapes, flowers and animals. The Featured Member Artist for this show is Terry Hart. Terry uses natural beeswax that has been heated and applied to a board where it is fused, carved, and coaxed into landscapes, abstracts and city/rural scenes. Please join us for refreshments and meet that Artists at a reception on Saturday Oct. 18th from 2-4 p.m.

Experience a curated art crawl through Belleville’s gallery district, where history and creativity come alive. Presented in partnership with the QAC Cultural Hub and Gallery, John M. Parrott Gallery, Belleville Art Association, and Gallery 121, this unique event invites you to explore artistic interpretations of 19th-century Ontario life. Step into each gallery to discover historical artwork curated from the collection at the Glanmore National Historic Site, accompanied by scripted historical notes that bring the stories behind the works to life. Pick up a Gallery Crawl Card at any participating location, enjoy the exhibits, and collect a stamp at each stop for your chance to win a one-year membership to Glanmore. Belleville Arts Festival – Collaborative Exhibition

An immersive, collaborative exhibition highlighting 19th-century Ontario life and the Moodie family, presented in partnership with the Community Archives of Belleville and Hastings County, the Parrott Gallery, and Glanmore National Historic Site. Archival material, artworks, and historical objects will bring the Moodie era to life for visitors throughout the month.

Beyond the Folding Chair: An evening with Lauren McKeon

This special evening commences Domestic Violence Awareness Month, featuring renowned author and journalist Lauren McKeon, who will share an unflinching, intersectional perspective to her work. Guests will enjoy an elevated culinary experience by Chef Sam Robertson, live piano music, an exclusive silent auction, and a book signing with McKeon. McKeon’s writing critiques the systems that keep women from taking a seat at the table and pushes us to ask: What’s beyond the folding chair? Her keynote will challenge attendees to think critically about power, gender, and what it takes to build new, equitable spaces. Currently Executive Editor of Non-Fiction at Harper Collins Canada, Lauren has held senior editorial roles at Toronto Life, Reader’s Digest, The Walrus, and This Magazine. Her work has appeared in Maclean’s, Chatelaine, Hazlitt, and more. She is the author of three groundbreaking books—Women of the Pandemic, No More Nice Girls, and F-Bomb: Dispatches from the War on Feminism—with a forthcoming memoir from McClelland & Stewart.
