FALL SHOW – GALLERY 121 – OCTOBER 7TH – NOV. 15TH, 2025 RECEPTION SATURDAY OCT. 18TH, 2025 The members of Gallery 121 are excited to show of their new works of art alongside those of Kayo O’Young, a famous potter and a well-known realistic, artist from Hastings. Kayo O’Young is recognized as one of Canada’s finest porcelain creators with his works being featured in two films. His pieces are unique in style, minimalistic, intriguing, inviting and fired with hand made glazes. These pieces may be found in some of the most prestigious museums and galleries in North America. The realism and luminosity found in Barb McGuey’s oil paintings is spell binding. Barb’s focus is on the natural world through landscapes, flowers and animals. The Featured Member Artist for this show is Terry Hart. Terry uses natural beeswax that has been heated and applied to a board where it is fused, carved, and coaxed into landscapes, abstracts and city/rural scenes. Please join us for refreshments and meet that Artists at a reception on Saturday Oct. 18th from 2-4 p.m.

Youth Chess Club

Belleville Public Library 254 Pinnacle Street, Belleville, ON

​Join us for at Belleville Public Library for some chess fun! Players of all skill levels are welcome.

For children & youth aged 9 – 17. Children 10 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The chess club meets biweekly on Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Act Locally: One-Act Plays by Local Playwrights

Join us for three engaging and entertaining one-act plays by local playwrights brought to life by some of the region’s finest actors. The Quinte Region is fast becoming a hotbed of play writing excellence…and we’ve got the proof. From bittersweet to poignant to laugh-out-loud funny, these three plays by Belleville playwrights are sure to have our audiences talking about them long after they’ve left the theatre. “Driving” by Steve Billinger is timely and masterfully written with dialogue as sharp as a knife. It’s an intense tour de force throwing two disparate men together in a sometimes uncomfortable conversation that neither one can escape from. “The Business Behind Us” by Matthew Sheahan is deceptively complex. With finely drawn characters, it’s both a modern morality tale and a mystery wrapped in a seemingly ordinary family story. “After Graduation” by Beth Milligan is short and sweet and as funny as…well…you’ll just have to see it. A master of writing plays that are fun for both actors and audiences, Beth has truly outdone herself with this one. Support local theatre and local writers. See all three plays for one price. Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks is a touching and human comedy about a formidable retired woman, Lily Harrison, who hires an acerbic dance instructor, Michael Minetti, to give her private dance lessons —one per week for six weeks— in her condo in Florida. What begins as an antagonistic relationship blossoms into an intimate friendship as these two people from different backgrounds reveal their secrets, fears, and joys while dancing.
