  • Quinte has Talent

    Centennial Secondary School 160 Palmer Road, Belleville

    Bentley Davidson, also known as Pint Sized Gord is hosting Quinte Has Talent, a one-day, all-ages community talent show on Saturday, November 29th, doors open at 5 p.m. at Centennial Secondary School in Belleville. The event will showcase singers, dancers, comedians, and performers of all kinds. Celebrity judges, including Maggie Cassella, Tyler Wilkinson, Shannon McDonough, Dug Stevenson, and Bentley himself, will join us for a fun-filled evening. Most importantly, all proceeds will support pediatric care at Kingston General Hospital (UHKF) and mental health programs at Belleville General Hospital Foundation.

    Bridging Communities – Crochet Circle with artist/educator Emebet Belete
    Emebet’s current art project is Bridging Communities, a large-scale art installation where community members will create crochet, and cover the downtown Front Street Bridge in stripes, blocks and patterns! Over the past year, she has taught and involved students in six area schools in the art of crochet.

    Open for youth and adults, experienced and beginners, individuals, families and friends!

    How You Can Get Involved:
    Crochet a piece (or more!) for the bridge.
    Join the organizing committee to help steer the project.
    Teach others to crochet and share your skills.
    Help distribute crocheting materials to participants.
    Collaborate with your group or organization to crochet pieces.
    Form a crochet group with friends or partners.

The QAC Cultural Hub will show a fine selection of Huffman’s incredible Canadian landscapes at the QAC Cultural Hub from December 5th to the 18th. Robert Huffman is a professional artist and has been painting the landscapes and towns of Canada for over 40 years. From rugged bush country to intimate villages, both subject and style vary. Robert works in oils, acrylic and other mixed mediums on canvas and paper. His paintings are marked by a distinctive personal style, featuring bold use of colour and bravura brush work.
