  • Act Locally: One-Act Plays by Local Playwrights

Theatre in the Wings 30 Bridge Street East, Belleville

Join us for three engaging and entertaining one-act plays by local playwrights brought to life by some of the region’s finest actors. The Quinte Region is fast becoming a hotbed of play writing excellence…and we’ve got the proof. From bittersweet to poignant to laugh-out-loud funny, these three plays by Belleville playwrights are sure to have our audiences talking about them long after they’ve left the theatre. “Driving” by Steve Billinger is timely and masterfully written with dialogue as sharp as a knife. It’s an intense tour de force throwing two disparate men together in a sometimes uncomfortable conversation that neither one can escape from. “The Business Behind Us” by Matthew Sheahan is deceptively complex. With finely drawn characters, it’s both a modern morality tale and a mystery wrapped in a seemingly ordinary family story. “After Graduation” by Beth Milligan is short and sweet and as funny as…well…you’ll just have to see it. A master of writing plays that are fun for both actors and audiences, Beth has truly outdone herself with this one. Support local theatre and local writers. See all three plays for one price. That’s a bargain. Tickets are $25 on Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/act-locally-tickets-1613028925939

  • LIVE MUSIC: Red Dirt Skinners

St Matthews United Church 25 Holloway ST. Belleville, ON 25 Holloway St., Belleville

We are delighted to present an evening with Red Dirt Skinners at St Matthews, Belleville, on October 25, 2025.
“The Pink Floyd of Folk Music.” That’s how Roots Music Canada describes the Red Dirt Skinners — and Music News Magazine agrees, noting “an almost Floyd-like quality” to their sound. Widely regarded as one of the most innovative acts to emerge from the UK in recent years, the Skinners’ multi-award-winning music blurs genres and defies expectations.
A Red Dirt Skinners show is built on powerful storytelling, unexpected turns, and a fearless creative spirit. If you enjoy music inspired by legends like Pink Floyd, Simon and Garfunkel, Supertramp, Queen, and David Bowie — but with its own unmistakable voice — you’ll love the Red Dirt Skinners.
With male and female harmonies blending into a single, unforgettable voice, and Sarah’s soaring soprano saxophone lines, this duo delivers performances that are both refreshingly different and emotionally rich.
A Red Dirt Skinners show is more than a concert — it’s a musical journey. Expect laugh-out-loud stories, thought-provoking lyrics, and songs that stay with you long after the final note. Rob and Sarah Skinner bring heart, humour, and exceptional musicianship to every performance.
Don’t miss the Red Dirt Skinners — they’ll steal your heart.

  • LIVE MUSIC @ Meyers Creek Brewing – Melodi Ryan

Meyers Creek Brewing 60 Dundas St E, Belleville

Melodi is an alternative/folk/soul singer-songwriter from Peterborough, Ontario. Her influences range from old jazz, blues and soul to the heavy, dark, indie folk of today. Her pensive, haunting, and occasionally sullen lyrics are expressed by an impassioned, soulful voice using playful melodies, resulting in a work of art that parallels the dichotomy between the realities of love and life. Melodi’s long awaited debut album, released in the fall of 2019, is a collection of bruised and tattered love songs, selected from the last 10 years’ work. She’s excited for this juncture in her art, and the new direction it will take.
