Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks is a touching and human comedy about a formidable retired woman, Lily Harrison, who hires an acerbic dance instructor, Michael Minetti, to give her private dance lessons —one per week for six weeks— in her condo in Florida. What begins as an antagonistic relationship blossoms into an intimate friendship as these two people from different backgrounds reveal their secrets, fears, and joys while dancing. His pieces are unique in style, minimalistic, intriguing, inviting and fired with hand made glazes. These pieces may be found in some of the most prestigious museums and galleries in North America. The realism and luminosity found in Barb McGuey’s oil paintings is spell binding. Barb’s focus is on the natural world through landscapes, flowers and animals. The Featured Member Artist for this show is Terry Hart. Terry uses natural beeswax that has been heated and applied to a board where it is fused, carved, and coaxed into landscapes, abstracts and city/rural scenes. Bridging Communities – Crochet Circle with artist/educator Emebet Belete
Emebet’s current art project is Bridging Communities, a large-scale art installation where community members will create crochet, and cover the downtown Front Street Bridge in stripes, blocks and patterns! Over the past year, she has taught and involved students in six area schools in the art of crochet.
Open for youth and adults, experienced and beginners, individuals, families and friends!
How You Can Get Involved:
Crochet a piece (or more!) for the bridge.
Join the organizing committee to help steer the project.

Glanmore invites you to get into the spirit of Halloween with the museum’s Family Night at the B00-seum event taking place on the evening of Friday, Oct. 24. New to this year’s event is a sensory-friendly hour, with smaller crowds and reduced noise and lighting from 4 to 5 p.m. The main event with timed entry admissions will then take place between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. Don your Halloween costumes and join in an evening at Glanmore filled with family-friendly Halloween fun (no inflatable costumes or prop projectiles/weapons, please)! During Family Night at the BOO-seum, families can watch spooky silent films, make a ghostly or jack-o-lantern themed craft and enjoy indoor trick-or-treating. Take in the Creepy Curiosities exhibit as you explore the historic house and be sure to check out weird and wonderful activities in the Creepy Kitchen! Jack McAvoy is a dynamic solo acoustic artist specializing in rock, alternative, and folk covers. Known for his performances of familiar favourites by The Tragically Hip, Neil Young, Tom Petty, and more. With a rich background, including leading the Kingston-based alternative rock band Enrights that supported acts like Sam Roberts Band, Theory of a Deadman and The Trews, Jack brings big stage experience, stories and fun to small-town Ontario stages. He currently also plays lead guitar for the Belleville-based group, Cat Named Earl.

Melodi is an alternative/folk/soul singer-songwriter from Peterborough, Ontario. Her influences range from old jazz, blues and soul to the heavy, dark, indie folk of today. Her pensive, haunting, and occasionally sullen lyrics are expressed by an impassioned, soulful voice using playful melodies, resulting in a work of art that parallels the dichotomy between the realities of love and life. Melodi’s long awaited debut album, released in the fall of 2019, is a collection of bruised and tattered love songs, selected from the last 10 years’ work. She’s excited for this juncture in her art, and the new direction it will take.
