Melodi is an alternative/folk/soul singer-songwriter from Peterborough, Ontario. Her influences range from old jazz, blues and soul to the heavy, dark, indie folk of today. Her pensive, haunting, and occasionally sullen lyrics are expressed by an impassioned, soulful voice using playful melodies, resulting in a work of art that parallels the dichotomy between the realities of love and life. Melodi’s long awaited debut album, released in the fall of 2019, is a collection of bruised and tattered love songs, selected from the last 10 years’ work. She’s excited for this juncture in her art, and the new direction it will take.

With finely drawn characters, it’s both a modern morality tale and a mystery wrapped in a seemingly ordinary family story. “After Graduation” by Beth Milligan is short and sweet and as funny as…well…you’ll just have to see it. Our annual Fish Fry Fundraiser returns on Sunday, October 26 from 5pm – 7pm, featuring golden-fried fish, great company, and live music to warm up the fall season. The realism and luminosity found in Barb McGuey’s oil paintings is spell binding. Barb’s focus is on the natural world through landscapes, flowers and animals. The Featured Member Artist for this show is Terry Hart. Terry uses natural beeswax that has been heated and applied to a board where it is fused, carved, and coaxed into landscapes, abstracts and city/rural scenes. Bridging Communities – Crochet Circle with artist/educator Emebet Belete
Emebet’s current art project is Bridging Communities, a large-scale art installation where community members will create crochet, and cover the downtown Front Street Bridge in stripes, blocks and patterns! Over the past year, she has taught and involved students in six area schools in the art of crochet.
Open for youth and adults, experienced and beginners, individuals, families and friends!
How You Can Get Involved:
Crochet a piece (or more!) for the bridge.
Join the organizing committee to help steer the project.
Teach others to crochet and share your skills.
Help distribute crocheting materials to participants.
Collaborate with your group or organization to crochet pieces.

Step into each gallery to discover historical artwork curated from the collection at the Glanmore National Historic Site, accompanied by scripted historical notes that bring the stories behind the works to life.
