A Cappella Quinte, Belleville’s premier men’s chorus, will be performing at St. Thomas’ Anglican Church, 201 Church Street, Belleville, as part of the “Sunday @ 3” concert series on Sunday, February 1st. This group of over 30 men have a program featuring intricate harmonies, family-based humour, and an unsurpassed energy level, a combination sure to surprise and delight you. The concert is followed by a “Meet and Greet” reception including a complimentary light refreshments buffet. This program is sure to sell out, so get your tickets early for only $10.00, children under 12 are free. For more information and advanced tickets please contact the Church office at 613-962-3636. The Music Machine – DJ Christopher Born and raised in Toronto, DJ Christopher developed a lifelong love of music through late-night radio and the iconic CFNY 102.1, The Spirit of Radio. His early years were spent immersed in the Queen Street West club scene, shaping a deep and eclectic musical taste. As a Registered Co-operative, the gallery is committed to fostering a vibrant space for artists and artisans to share their talents. Anniversary Show Highlights This commemorative exhibition will showcase a dynamic blend of artwork from both former and current members. More than fourteen former artists will have their pieces displayed alongside the works of today’s talented members, creating an exciting fusion of past and present creativity. Join the Celebration Guests are invited to the reception on March 14th from 2 – 4 p.m. to enjoy delicious cake, a variety of beverages, and the camaraderie of fellow artists. Immerse yourself in the creative atmosphere and celebrate the rich history and promising future of Gallery 121.

Come and play the drums with us! Every Friday at the QAC Cultural Hub – join us for classes and learn to play African drums such as djembe, kpanlogo, and gome. Learn proper technique, learn several parts to a song, and join in an ensemble that will shake the house! Along with playing, learn about the history of the drums, how they are made, and the cultural significance of the music we will play. Seedy Saturday is a community event for the sharing of seeds and gardening expertise. The event is sponsored by the City of Belleville, the Belleville Garden Club and Quinte Conservation. Local community groups and market vendors include: Gleaners, Community Development Council (community gardens), Natural Themes Nursery, TerraEdibles, DropSeed Nursery, Fiddleheads Farms, Thyme Again Gardens, Master Gardeners and more. The focus of Seedy Saturday is to promote biodiversity in food production and to help address food security issues in our community.

Join us for Black Roots in Belleville and the Quinte Region, a presentation that explores the meaningful history of Black presence, resilience, and contribution in the area. This presentation will look at the stories of early Black settlers, family legacies, and the region’s connections to freedom-seeking routes and community building, showing how Black history is not separate from Canadian history, but an essential part of it. The presentation also highlights Black innovation, and the many ways Black Canadians have contributed to entrepreneurship, agriculture, craftsmanship, education, media, and social change both locally and across the country. No registration required. All are welcome! This talk will take place in the 3rd floor Meeting Room. Special Guest Speaker Dr. Nikki Clarke Dr. Nikki Clarke is a multi-award-winning media personality, author, educator, and community leader. She is the Chair of the Quinte Cultural Innovation Committee and the host and producer of The Nikki Clarke Show, a nationally recognized television and digital platform now in its 17th year. A former educator and passionate advocate for inclusive storytelling, Dr. Clarke is the author of The Paperclip Princess, I Can Care but Can’t Carry, and the Black Canadian History Coloring Book. She is the immediate past President of the Ontario Black History Society. Through media, education, and community engagement, she amplifies underrepresented voices and champions the understanding of Black history as an integral part of Canadian history. |
