    Kids Got Talent is back Sun Nov 9th, 2-5 pm LIVE at the Empire Theatre in downtown Belleville. 50 of the Quinte Region’s most talented youth compete for cash & prizes. Special guest Scott Jackson, National Beatbox Champion & Finalist from Canada’s Got Talent will also share the stage. You don’t want to miss the grand finale …“This Is My Canada / Mon Cher Canada” … featuring 80 kids singing out their pride!     Belleville Public Library 254 Pinnacle Street, Belleville, ON

    Belleville Public Library's Adult Chess Club is for ages 18 and up. The club meets every Monday at 5:30pm. Bring your own chess board or borrow one from the library and meet with fellow chess players for a friendly game. All skill levels are invited to this informal, self-led program.     FALL SHOW – GALLERY 121 – OCTOBER 7TH – NOV. 15TH, 2025 RECEPTION SATURDAY OCT. 18TH, 2025 The members of Gallery 121 are excited to show of their new works of art alongside those of Kayo O’Young, a famous potter and a well-known realistic, artist from Hastings. Kayo O’Young is recognized as one of Canada’s finest porcelain creators with his works being featured in two films. His pieces are unique in style, minimalistic, intriguing, inviting and fired with hand made glazes. These pieces may be found in some of the most prestigious museums and galleries in North America. The realism and luminosity found in Barb McGuey’s oil paintings is spell binding. Barb’s focus is on the natural world through landscapes, flowers and animals. The Featured Member Artist for this show is Terry Hart. Terry uses natural beeswax that has been heated and applied to a board where it is fused, carved, and coaxed into landscapes, abstracts and city/rural scenes. Please join us for refreshments and meet that Artists at a reception on Saturday Oct. 18th from 2-4 p.m.

    Bridging Communities – Crochet Circle with artist/educator Emebet Belete
    Emebet’s current art project is Bridging Communities, a large-scale art installation where community members will create crochet, and cover the downtown Front Street Bridge in stripes, blocks and patterns! Over the past year, she has taught and involved students in six area schools in the art of crochet.

    Open for youth and adults, experienced and beginners, individuals, families and friends!

    How You Can Get Involved:
    Crochet a piece (or more!) for the bridge.
    Join the organizing committee to help steer the project.
    Teach others to crochet and share your skills.
    Help distribute crocheting materials to participants.
    Collaborate with your group or organization to crochet pieces.

  • Belleville Nighttime Santa Claus Parade

    Bridge Street Bridge Street, Belleville

    The Belleville Santa Claus Parade is back on Sunday, Nov. 16! The parade will begin at Bridge Street West and Sidney Street at 4:30 p.m. and travel down Bridge Street through downtown Belleville before ending at the corner of Herchimer Avenue at approximately 7 p.m. Join us before the parade at Glanmore National Historic Site for pre-parade festivities including free admission from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Visitors can explore the historic house with its seasonal exhibitions and even make a simple ornament to take home. Rotary’s Reindeer Village will also once again be set up in Robin Jeffrey Park, complete with both light-up and live reindeer and free hot chocolate while supplies last. Don’t forget your letters for Santa and donations for Gleaners and the Firefighters Toy Drive!

  • Youth Chess Club

    Belleville Public Library 254 Pinnacle Street, Belleville, ON

    ​Join us for at Belleville Public Library for some chess fun! Players of all skill levels are welcome.

    For children & youth aged 9 – 17. Children 10 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

    The chess club meets biweekly on Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

    An immersive, collaborative exhibition highlighting 19th-century Ontario life and the Moodie family, presented in partnership with the Community Archives of Belleville and Hastings County, the Parrott Gallery, and Glanmore National Historic Site. Archival material, artworks, and historical objects will bring the Moodie era to life for visitors throughout the month.
