The 17-piece Commodores Orchestra has provided swing music accompaniment to life in the Quinte Region since the Roaring Twenties. As the historic ensemble nears its 100th anniversary in 2028, the Commodores have adapted their big band sound to much acclaim from modern audiences, thanks to the contributions of some of Canada’s finest Grammy and Juno level musicians. But make no mistake. It’s still a Belleville and Quinte-based band; two-thirds of its players live less than half an hour away. Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and uptight Mother Superior. Using her unique disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church and community but, in doing so, blows her cover.
