Belleville Public Library's Adult Chess Club is for ages 18 and up. The club meets every Monday at 5:30pm. Kayo O’Young is recognized as one of Canada’s finest porcelain creators with his works being featured in two films. His pieces are unique in style, minimalistic, intriguing, inviting and fired with hand made glazes. These pieces may be found in some of the most prestigious museums and galleries in North America. The realism and luminosity found in Barb McGuey’s oil paintings is spell binding. Barb’s focus is on the natural world through landscapes, flowers and animals. The Featured Member Artist for this show is Terry Hart. Terry uses natural beeswax that has been heated and applied to a board where it is fused, carved, and coaxed into landscapes, abstracts and city/rural scenes. Bridging Communities – Crochet Circle with artist/educator Emebet Belete
Emebet’s current art project is Bridging Communities, a large-scale art installation where community members will create crochet, and cover the downtown Front Street Bridge in stripes, blocks and patterns! Over the past year, she has taught and involved students in six area schools in the art of crochet.
Open for youth and adults, experienced and beginners, individuals, families and friends!
How You Can Get Involved:
Crochet a piece (or more!) for the bridge.
Join the organizing committee to help steer the project.
Teach others to crochet and share your skills.
Help distribute crocheting materials to participants.

We have had the opportunity to meet so many amazing musically inclined people who love to play but are looking for something more casual and cooperative than our open mic format. Join us for our unplugged jam sessions. Whether it’s a guitar, mandolin, cajon, ukelele, or other acoustic instrument players of all skill levels are welcome, or just come to listen and sing along! So how’s a jam different? – First off it’s not performance-based! A “jam” is any music played without preparation beforehand. This might mean that the music is undefined, simply put, the group is letting the music pick the flow of what is played next.

This year’s Festival of Lights is set to begin Nov. 14 with a special launch night event. Join us at Jane Forrester Park in Belleville for live music, food vendors, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, Belleville Senators mascot “Belly”, a spectacular drone light show (weather permitting) and more! Opening ceremonies begin at 6 p.m. with the official lighting of the park to follow.

Award winning country singer/songwriter Deborah Lynn was born and raised in Stirling Ontario. Traditional country roots with musical influences in folk and classic rock paired with her incredible vocal talent consistently leave audiences wanting to hear more. Deborah Lynn started singing, playing guitar and sharpening her song writing skills from a young age. However, music was put on the backburner after college while she was a small business owner in Toronto. It was a fateful trip to Nashville that reignited her artistic passion and put her on the road to becoming a rising country music artist. There she had the opportunity to play the songwriter’s open mic at the iconic Bluebird Café and join the house band on stage for a couple songs at the famed Tootsies on Broadway. Proud CCMA and CMAO member Deborah Lynn released her debut single April 17th, 2020 called Revive a Ghost. It quickly rose to Number 1 on the Canadian Indie Country Countdown and was nominated for a Josie Award for best female country song. The Josie Awards, hosted in Tennessee, are the largest international Indie Awards show with upwards of 50,000 submissions annually. For Deborah Lynn, watching her debut single rocketing all the way to the top of the Canadian Indie Country chart cemented that decision to jump in with both feet.

Take in the sights and sounds of the holiday season with the Belleville Festival of Lights lighting display at Jane Forrester Park! This year’s display features three new installations: an interactive snowman photo frame, “Belleville” ASL finger spelling sign and a special display honouring the Kort family.
We’re welcoming Victor back to our taproom! Raised in Eastern Ontario, Canada, Victor is one of eight children. He spent most of his childhood either climbing trees, or writing music. Soon music took over and for the past twenty years Victor has been writing his own material. His folksy sound and vocal range allow him to express himself through originals as well as a very wide variety of covers from Johnny Cash to Michael Jackson. Victor is also co-owner of a creative agency called eighty Twenty studio in Belleville, Ontario which acts as a second outlet for his creativity. Married to Jodi Cooper since 2004, he finds her to be great inspiration for much of his music.
