History buffs would be thrilled to know that the Log Cabin (5 Moira St. E) has free copies of the “Stroll of Discovery” guide by the The Hastings County Historical Society (in partnership with Community Archives of Belleville and Hastings County).
The Moira River runs through the heart of the City of Belleville and powered the 19th-century mills that were the basis of economic growth in the area. Now you can learn about the history of the bridges, buildings and sites along the banks of the Moira with a new self-guided walking tour.
The 5 km self-guided walk stretches from Meyers Pier up to Highway 401 and showcases forty points of interest with information on various significant events in the City’s history. It is also fully accessible by bike, wheelchair, or with a stroller.
You can also access it through PocketSights or download a PDF to print at home.
