The Shark 24 World Championship is held annually, rotating between Canada and Europe, involving about 40 boats (120 sailors) from Canada, USA, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, plus international judges and race officers, and volunteers.
The Shark 24 Worlds are open for viewing by the public from Belleville’s Meyers Pier, when races take place south of the Pier.
The Shark 24 World Championship Regatta is coming to our region, and can be viewed on the Bay of Quinte from Meyers Pier.
The Shark 24 is a 24 foot long sailboat, sailed by 3 persons, and is recognized by World Sailing as one of only 47 one-design keelboat classes.
