Youth Theatre Workshop Series

November 15 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$15

What: Quinte Little Theatre is proud to present Scrapbook Showcase: the first of our youth theatre workshop series. The purpose of this workshop is to offer an introduction to performance, music, dance, improvisation, production, and management of theatre.

Over 8 evenings, participants will increase their understanding of all aspects of theatre and perform in a final show. All participants must commit to ALL DATES!

When: This program is running November – December 2024, culminating in a holiday show (see below for dates).

Who: This workshop showcase is designed for youth between the ages of 10 and 17. Limited spots available.

Cost: The program is accessible through the purchase of a student membership, at a cost of $15. This is an annual membership, and the fee covers the entire year of involvement in workshops and shows as well as other membership benefits.

Where: This program will take place upstairs in the Trenton Town Hall (host to the Trent Port Historical Society) at 55 King St, Trenton, ON.

There is no audition or application process for this program (however, will be required to submit a registration form and sign a code of conduct as per membership). All youth who are interested in participating are welcome, no experience required. We have roles for those interested in performance, production, or both.

We are an inclusive program. Any youth able to participate is welcome. If your child has any restrictions or requires extra support to participate, we ask that you include what accommodations are required to facilitate their learning.

We require all our participants to read and fill out the QLT code of conduct, as well as a liability waiver to ensure the understanding of our rules and regulation and our expectations of behavior.

Parents/Guardians are encouraged to participate with their children but not necessary for involvement in the program.

The 2 hours sessions are from 7-9pm (Friday evenings) and 12-2pm (Sunday afternoons) on the following dates:

Friday November 15th

Friday November 22nd

Friday November 29th

Sunday December 1st

Friday December 6th

Sunday December 8th

Our first series will create a show based on parodies around traditional children’s stories and nursery rhymes. There will be vocal and choreography components to expose kids to a musical theatre experience too.

All members leading this program have their vulnerable sector check and first aid/CPR training.
