Belleville Theatre Guild: Between Breaths

Belleville Theatre Guild 256 Pinnacle St, Belleville

Directed by Ian Feltham “Between Breaths” by Robert Chafe, tells the story of Jon Lien, an American Biologist living in Newfoundland with his wife Judy. Transplanted from South Dakota to study sea birds, he finds himself immersed in the cold North Atlantic freeing whales trapped in fishing gear. Recruiting Wayne, a resident Newfoundlander, he finds a way to set them free and preserve the precious fishing gear, the lifeblood of the local fishing industry. Yet Jon is suffering from a debilitating disease that will leave him wheelchair-bound and locked inside his mind. This is a story of being trapped and being set free and what we learn about ourselves along the way. This play is performed in one long act and the characters remain onstage for the entire production.
