‘FLIGHT’ – voices soaring in harmony – Belleville Choral Society

St. Matthew’s United Church 25 Holloway Street, Belleville

Belleville Choral Society’s next concert will be on January 20, 2024 at 2 pm with the doors at St Matthew’s United Church 25 Holloway St, opening at 1:30. Entitled ‘FLIGHT’, the performance will feature voices soaring in harmony. Directed by Heather Christiansen and accompanied by Tom Dietzel, the choir will perform music ranging from haunting melodies sung as a round to foot-stomping, clapping calls for hope in dark times. The Centennial Secondary 9-12 Vocal Majors is joining BCS, directed by Sarra Ostanski. Admission: $20 adult, $10 Student or children 16 and under. Tickets are available online or at the door.

“Leave Me Alone, I’m Painting” -Paintings by Marie Timbers

Come to the Vernissage for Marie Timbers “Leave Me Alone, I’m Painting”: Saturday, January 20 from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m. This retrospective exhibition will feature the acrylic and collage/mixed media paintings of Marie Timbers. Free event – everyone welcome – light refreshments will be served. On display in Galleries 2 & 3 until February 14, 2024

This awesome local group from Corbyville describes themselves as “Championing artistic purity over commercial ambition. Playing and recording real country freak out space rock with vintage gear.”

Theatre in the Wings: “Last Summer at Bluefish Cove”

Theatre in the Wings 30 Bridge Street East, Belleville

“Last Summer at Bluefish Cove” is a ground-breaking play that focuses on the friendships and journeys of eight unique women. First produced in 1980, it’s a lesson in how far we’ve come as a society…and a powerful reminder of how far we have left to go. Directed by Jocelyn LoSole with Jocelyn Brant and performed by a powerhouse cast, this is a play that will be talked about for a long time to come. January 11 to 14 and January 18 to 22, 2024 at 7:30 pm
