ASIST Suicide First Aid Training

Loyalist College 376 Wallbridge-Loyalist Road, Belleville

ASIST is a two-day interactive workshop in suicide first-aid. ASIST teaches participants to recognize when someone may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety. Although ASIST is widely used by healthcare providers, participants don’t need any formal training to attend the workshop—ASIST can be learned and used by anyone. Queen Victoria Public School Fundraiser Craft Fair

Queen Victoria Public School 46 Pine St., Belleville

We are running a vendor show to help raise money for an end of the year school trip. As some of you may know Queen Victoria is closing at the end of the school year and students will be attending a new school called Easthill. This is sad but also exciting for most students and faculty. We are hoping to make this a fun community event before the school closes it’s doors for good. Hope to see you guys there!

Belleville Walk for Alzheimer’s

The IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s in Belleville will be hosted on Saturday, May 25th, 2024 at Jane Forrester Park in Belleville (30 S John St). Registration opens at 9:30 am, and the Walk is from 10 am – 12 pm along the Kiwanis Bayshore Trail. Everyone is welcome to join us for this important community fundraiser. There is no minimum fundraising amount to participate, but everyone who raises $50+ will receive a t-shirt, while supplies last. To register, print a pledge form or learn more visit www.walkforalzheimers.ca. Pledge forms can also be picked up at the Alzheimer Society office at the Bay View Mall. GALLERY 121 PRESENTS THEIR 2024 SPRING SHOW: APRIL 23RD – JUNE 1ST Our Guest Artist for the Spring show is Christine Walker Bird. Christine is a multi-talented artist who makes the composition of her threads dance to life in fabric arts which include elegantly detailed leather and fabric bags, table runners, wall hangings and much more. Christine’s show is entitled “Renewal”. Befitting as her alluring works primarily consist of a selection of re-purposed materials. The Featured Member Artist is David Alexander; a teacher, and world traveler, whose art has found homes in multiple continents including being presented to Pope Paul 11, and religious leaders of both the Jewish and Muslim faiths in Jerusalem. His powerful show is appropriately entitled “In Transit”. David is comfortable and excels in in many mediums as may be seen in his thought-provoking works. Christine, David, and the talented members of Gallery 121 will be present at an Opening Reception; April 27th between 2 and 4 p.m. Please join us to welcome spring!

THE WIZARD OF OZ Eastside Secondary School’s Musical Theatre presents the well-loved 1939 classic musical THE WIZARD OF OZ on May 22, 23 and 24 at 7:00 pm and May 25 at 2:00 pm at ESS, 275 Farley Avenue, Belleville. Tickets for the production are now available to purchase online at Eventbrite (https://eventbrite.com) or, if families prefer paper tickets, these are being sold in the main office at ESS on school days from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm (cash only at the office). Tickets will also be available at the door before each performance.
