Woodland Wellness Series: Rooted in Relaxation
Sidney Conservation Area Airport Road, Quinte West, CanadaStep into Nature with certified Forest Therapy host, Morgan, as she guides you through a conscious and contemplative practice where your senses are immersed in the sights, sounds, and smells of the forest. Forest Therapy does not involve vigorous activity. This is not a hike or an educational interpretive walk. Instead, you can expect a slow pace, with ample time spent both moving slowly and remaining in one place. There will be opportunities for sitting, standing, or even lying down. Feel free to bring a journal, blanket, or other items to enhance your comfort. You may also bring snacks if you need to eat within a three-hour period. Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather. Morgan is a Certified Forest Therapy Guide through the Global Institute of Forest Therapy (GIFT). She comes from a background in outdoor recreation and teaching, has two little ones at home and has spent the last 10 years working in the ski industry at Batawa Ski Hill. If you can’t find her after the ski hill closes for the season, she just might be in the forest knitting, recovering from the winter.
