Gallery 121 Early Spring Show

GALLERY 121 PRESENT THEIR EARLY SPRING SHOW, March 12th – April 20th Our Guest Artist is Lynne Vegter. Her life-like oil paintings are transportive; often taking you to her cabin studio on Lake Waslekoon where she spends much of her time painting and taking photos that capture the wildlife, and glistening lake surroundings. Lynne comes to us from the Bancroft area where she has been involved with several galleries as well as teaching classes and participating in lobbying activities to benefit both the wildlife and environment. Our Featured Member Artist is Larraine Milligan. Larraine is a new member to 121, but she is far from new to the art world. As a member on the board of Theatre on the Wings and a prolific artist, she has shown in a variety of different venues. She describes her art in in four words: female figure, narrative, and line. Paintings consisting of one or several of: cold wax, original charcoal lines and oil, challenge the viewer to decide on the narrative beneath her female figure’s presentation. A wonderful show. Please join us for our opening reception March 16th, 2-4 p.m.

Tony Silvestri is an accomplished performer and songwriter who welds a variety of rock and alternative styles to create a unique musical experience. He has been performing for live audiences for more than 15 years as a solo artist, and with such groups as the Glorious Sons, Road Waves, and Dead Root Revival. With the world– and their relationship– on the brink of collapse, the bickering couple stares down oblivion together, confronting the illusions that kept them together, and finding hope for their future in the chaos of imminent destruction. Consumer tasting on Friday, March 22nd from 5 to 6 PM Enjoy a romp through PEC Terroir in this structured tasting of County wines and ciders led by Thierry Alcantara-Stewart, Sommelier, of Adega Wine Bar. Six experienced makers at PEC cideries and wineries were challenged to pick one wine or cider that best exemplifies County Terroir. Thierry will lead the audience through a tasting of each wine. Each wine will first be experienced in a blind tasting with the grape and the winemaker unknown. When the wine is revealed, the maker will then explain why they chose that wine and how it expresses the unique characteristics of our region. Live Music: Ron Nicholas

Join us on March 22nd for dinner anytime between 7PM-9PM to enjoy Ron Nicholas. Ron has been playing, writing, and teaching music In the Quinte Region for many years. He has played all over Ontario, and Quebec in several band combos including duos, trios, quartets, and produced music for the Canada Weather Network as well as independent films. He has studied and continues to study classical guitar, piano and music theory and enjoys playing in many styles and genres. His set lists include music from Bach to Neil Diamond to U2. His Studio and Production company “DARK GREEN PRODUCTIONS” is located in Frankford, Ontario. Ron is currently still active in the music industry and continues to write, and produce music for himself and other artists. *This event is not ticketed and is for patrons of the restaurant.
