Directed by Alexandra Bell Picture a summer day in 1956. The kids have finally moved out and you are ready to settle into your golden years with your spouse by your side before a shiny new television set. This is the vision that Sam and Hilda Fluck are enjoying. The laundry line is set, the drinks are in the fridge, and the sun is shining in the backyard. What could go wrong? As the day progresses and the Fluck yard and home become host to a cast of characters –some who do not even bother to use the door and arrive by fence–but Sam and Hilda realize that their dreams of an idyllic empty nest may have been nothing more than a delusion. Canadian playwright Norm Foster thrills again with a touching and heartfelt comedy that covers themes of life, love, and social change in the span of one day with the Flucks
