Night Kitchen Too (NKT) has been entertaining enthusiastic audiences from the Quinte Region for 10 years. NIGHT KITCHEN TOO provides a showcase for a diverse group of performers from the Quinte Region who present their music, poetry or spoken word on the stage of the Pinnacle Playhouse in the downtown core. Night Kitchen Too is a replica of an original idea that started entertaining audiences in Wolfville, NS. When granted permission to bring it to Belleville, we added “Too.” Just as with the original, NKT is a not-for-profit project. Proceeds from concert admissions are distributed amongst the performers after theatre, sound and minimal organizing costs have been paid.
Gallery 121 at 48 Bridge St. East in Belleville invites you to attend our Early Summer Show, June 4 – July 13th. Reception to meet our Guest Artists On June 8th between 2 and 4 p.m. We are thrilled to have three Guest Artists joining the Members of the Gallery to delight you with glass works, sculptural pieces, and multiple mediums presenting both abstract and realistic images. Jennifer Delaney’s images are familiar to those in the Peterborough and Bethany areas. She worked as a technical draft person for many years and did works in oils, pastels, and glass firing. She refers to her works as “realism with a sense of drama.” Lois will present an array of her beautiful glass pieces at her show entitled, “The Nature of Glass”. Michael Amar has beautified the space in Gallery 121 on several different occasions with his thought-provoking works and authored book. What better way to celebrate having a Monday off than going out for some laughs on Sunday night? Canada Day Eve Comedy Night at The Smokin’ 116 Bistro is your chance to catch three of Canada’s funniest comics for a fraction of what you would pay to see them at the top comedy clubs in the country. Doors 5:30pm Show 6:00pm Headliner Alex Miller, a hilarious comic from Kelowna BC, is taking the Canadian comedy scene by storm with his sharp wit and infectious humour. Having performed at some of the top comedy clubs in the country (Yuk Yuk’s, Comedy Bar, etc…) and historic venues around the world (The Comedy Clubhouse Barcelona, The Waverley Bar Edinburgh, etc…), Alex’s fresh approach is winning him fans everywhere he goes. Alex’s hilarious takes on fatherhood and married life, peppered with dark observations and just over-the-line quips, have made him the “cool dad” and a must see. The evening’s emcee, Jeff Elliott, has quickly established himself as a rising star in the Canadian comedy scene and was nominated for a prestigious Canadian Comedy Award. Jeff is also a favourite on the festival circuit having appeared at the CBC’s Winnipeg and Halifax Comedy Festivals. As well, he can be heard regularly on XM Satellite Radio. As a writer, Jeff freelances for several major advertising agencies and does script consulting for Disney. The show will also feature Chad Noonan, an Ottawa based comic, podcaster and writer. He was the winner of Just for Laughs Stand Up and Pitch 2022, performed at The CCHOF festival in Hamilton and his podcast was named one of the Top 10 comedy podcasts in Canada! Chad has performed across the country.
