First musician of 2024 is one of our fav’s. Join us in welcoming Mike Conto back to the taproom! Mike Conto is a writer and performer who finds himself involved in a wide palette of settings, both live and in the studio. His love for popular music forms has allowed him to enjoy the company of many talented artists and players. This has brought him all over North America and abroad performing with original artists and tribute acts. Guitar is Mike’s main instrument but he continues to work professionally as a lead vocalist and bassist. As a producer, he continues to produce and write for artists that are attracted to Mike’s subtle but caring process. In 2013, Mike was fortunate to be hired to produce the award winning musical short film, “Sad Monster” by Kurt Dettbarn.

Belleville’s very popular acoustic musical variety show, will launch its 10th season, Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the Pinnacle Playhouse. Our first event will offer the Belleville audience something unique! Instead of an evening of various local artists, we will offer an opportunity to spend an evening with Joe Callahan who moved to Saskatchewan a couple of years ago. We will turn the stage over to him to highlight some of the music he has been working on since he left Belleville. Rubbin’ Elbows, Alexandra Bell and Nathan Mahaffy, will be on hand to host the evening and offer their own special brand of music to kick off the concert with Joe Callahan. Over those 10 years, NKT has hosted about a 1000 shows on the Pinnacle Playhouse Stage featuring novice performers as well as professionals. The concept is quite simple: 12 performers are invited to show up for a sound check an hour before the show opens at 7:30pm. Each get 5 minutes or one song/poem on stage with a Feature Act that gets 3 opportunities to entertain the always enthusiastic NKT audience members. As Joe said at the first organizational meeting in 2014, “I’ve always thought that the Pinnacle Playhouse would be a great place for live, local music, so when Gary Magwood, (the creator of NKT) suggested the idea, I was quick to jump on board.” Dates for the 10th season: January 13, March 2, May 11 and June 29. Summer and fall dates are to be announced. $10 admission gets a seat to see and hear a diverse group of performers present their songs, poetry, music and stories.
