Two Minutes to Midnight: a play by Michael Ross Albert

Theatre in the Wings 30 Bridge Street East, Belleville

MJ Mari and Toby Farrell shine in this brilliant dark comedy, directed by Jocelyn Brant and written by one of Canada’s most promising new playwrights. Tickets are $20 each. Order online through Eventbrite or call (613) 403-7329 to reserve. Jack and Tracy really need a vacation, but everything at their all-inclusive tropical getaway has been a disappointment. It’s rained the entire trip, their social media influence hasn’t translated to real revenue yet, and an inbound nuclear missile might be about to annihilate them and everyone nearby. With the world and their relationship on the brink of collapse, the bickering couple stares down oblivion together, confronting the illusions that kept them together, and finding hope for their future in the chaos of imminent destruction. “Michael Ross Albert’s comedy about a couple confronting the end of the world at a tropical resort is funny and deeply moving.” -NOW Magazine “Fast-paced, whip smart dialogue and a story that goes like the wind.” -Slotkin Letter

“The Need to GROW” – Documentary Screening

Theatre in the Wings 30 Bridge Street East, Belleville

On Monday, March 25, Gary’s Gig will present “The Need To GROW”, an award winning documentary that focuses on the work to regenerate our planet’s most precious dying resource, our topsoil. With research showing that we have only 60 years of farmable soil left on Earth, this eye-opening film highlights the importance of topsoil and why healing it is an environmental solution we’ve been searching for. Soil health will continue to be a more mainstream issue as we experience its true potential for healing the world. “The Need to GROW” offers an intimate look into the hearts of activists and innovators in the food movement: an 8 year old girl challenges the ethics of a beloved organization; a renegade farmer struggles to keep his land as he revolutionizes resource efficient agriculture and an accomplished visionary inventor faces catastrophe in the midst of developing a game-changing technology.
