Calling all history buffs!
The Hastings County Historical Society, in partnership with Community Archives of Belleville and Hastings County, has launched the “Stroll of Discovery” walking tour along the Moira River.
The Moira River runs through the heart of the City of Belleville and powered the 19th-century mills that were the basis of economic growth in the area. Now you can learn about the history of the bridges, buildings and sites along the banks of the Moira with a new self-guided walking tour.
The 5km self-guided walk stretches from Meyers Pier up to Highway 401 and showcases 40 points of interest with information on various significant events in the Cityβs history. It is also fully accessible by bike, wheelchair, or with a stroller.
Pick up your copy at the Belleville Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Information Centre (the Log Cabin at 5 Moira St E). You can also access it through PocketSights or download a PDF to print at home.
