5 Ways to Enjoy the Holiday Season in Belleville

There’s no shortage of holiday activities in Belleville this year. Check out the video below for some Belleville holiday traditions, and a listing of five ways to enjoy the holiday season.

1) LIGHT-UP DISPLAYS

When you drive into the parking lot at Jane Forrester Park (30 South John St), you’ll be greeted by twinkling lights on the trees, brightly-lit Nativity scenes, and plenty of other animated light displays. The Festival of Lights display will run until January 3, 2023 at Jane Forrester Park.

If you love reindeers, visit Corby Rose Garden (210 Ann St.) for Rotary Club of Belleville’s Reindeer Light-up Display.

2) ENCHANTED DOWNTOWN BELLEVILLE

Downtown Belleville is a magical place to be with artisans selling their wares housed in charming wooden huts, ice skating, horse and carriage rides, local shopping, dining, caroling, and pictures with Santa. There are plenty of Insta-worthy spots scattered all over downtown such as LED swings, giant trees, gift ball frame, and giant stars.

3. HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS TOUR

Have you ever gone on a drive around a new neighbourhood and discovered fully lit-up, holiday-decorated front yards? Ever wished there was a map of those houses? We have created an interactive map that would evoke a nostalgic feeling as you discover the magic of the season. Grab some hot chocolate, hop in the car, and enjoy the sights!

If you would like to include your home in our map, fill out this form.

4. GLANMORE BY GASLIGHT

Glanmore National Historic Site in the winter

Glanmore National Historic Site’s popular “Gaslight” evenings have been re-imagined for your safety and enjoyment. Visit Glanmore on Wednesday nights to enjoy the glow of faux gaslight and the magic of a Victorian Christmas.

Timed-entry tickets are very limited and must be purchased online in advance of the event at glanmore.ca.

5. VISIT SANTA

Take the little ones to see Santa and get first-hand info on what they’d like to see under the Christmas tree this year.

Santa will be visiting the Downtown District every Thursday from 5 pm to 8 pm, and he will be located in the iron gated courtyard.

On Friday nights until December 16, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at Jane Forrester Park at 30 South John St.

You may also visit Santa at the Quinte Mall until December 24. He will be available for photos with kids during the following hours: (reservations recommended)

Monday to Friday – 11 am-7 pm

Saturday – 11 am-6 pm

Sunday – 12 pm-5 pm

Book your visit with Santa at the Quinte Mall here.
