GALLERY 121 PRESENTS THEIR 2024 SPRING SHOW: APRIL 23RD – JUNE 1ST Our Guest Artist for the Spring show is Christine Walker Bird. Christine is a multi-talented artist who makes the composition of her threads dance to life in fabric arts which include elegantly detailed leather and fabric bags, table runners, wall hangings and much more. Christine’s show is entitled “Renewal”. Befitting as her alluring works primarily consist of a selection of re-purposed materials. The Featured Member Artist is David Alexander; a teacher, and world traveler, whose art has found homes in multiple continents including being presented to Pope Paul 11, and religious leaders of both the Jewish and Muslim faiths in Jerusalem. His powerful show is appropriately entitled “In Transit”. David is comfortable and excels in in many mediums as may be seen in his thought-provoking works. Christine, David, and the talented members of Gallery 121 will be present at an Opening Reception; April 27th between 2 and 4 p.m. Please join us to welcome spring!

Nicole Flynn and A Life Worth Living

Join us for special guest speaker Nicole Flynn​. Flynn will speak about her autobiography, titled A Life Worth Living, which tours the reader on a journey through challenges, celebrations, and contributions. As a woman who lives with Down syndrome, Nicole demonstrates that having Down syndrome doesn’t stop her, society does…or tries too! Nicole’s goal is to inspire people to live their lives to the fullest. She hopes to influence community members, allies, and supporters to give ALL people the chance to try. Nicole Flynn, from Centre Hastings, is a photographer, professional speaker, and philosopher. Flynn is also the CEO of Nicole Flynn Enterprises and author of A Life Worth Living. ANYTHING GOES – old and new choral favourites

Belleville Choral Society’s next concert will be on Saturday, May 11 at 2 pm with the doors opening at 1:30 at St Matthew’s United Church 25 Holloway St, Belleville. Entitled ‘ANYTHING GOES’, the performance will live up to its name with selections celebrating classic jazz arrangements, musical theatre favourites and modern syncopated rhythms. As a special touch to this Mother’s Day weekend event, Music Director Heather Christiansen will conduct the premiere choral performance of Love Endures, a commissioned arrangement from pianist Tom Dietzel. Special guests include the children’s ensemble, JOYFUL NOISES CHOIR, directed by Jane Robinson. Admission is $20 for adults and $10 for students and children 16 and under. Night Kitchen Too – Acoustic Show

Night Kitchen Too (NKT) has been entertaining enthusiastic audiences from the Quinte Region for 10 years. NIGHT KITCHEN TOO provides a showcase for a diverse group of performers from the Quinte Region who present their music, poetry or spoken word on the stage of the Pinnacle Playhouse in the downtown core. Night Kitchen Too is a replica of an original idea that started entertaining audiences in Wolfville, NS. When granted permission to bring it to Belleville, we added “Too.” Just as with the original, NKT is a not-for-profit project. Proceeds from concert admissions are distributed amongst the performers after theatre, sound and minimal organizing costs have been paid.
