Children will read individually to a St. John Ambulance therapy dog (and her handler) in our 1st Floor Program Room where young readers can feel comfortable, confident — and have fun! After all, a dog will not correct you or make you feel awkward if you stumble. For Beginner/Reluctant Readers ages 5 and up. Sessions are 15 minutes each at 4:00, 4:15, 4:30, 4:45 p.m. To register for a session, call (613) 968-6731 ext. 2035.

The French Conversation Circle meets in the second floor cookbook nook of the library at 6:00pm. Nervous about speaking in front of others? Learn to speak with confidence at Belleville Toastmasters! The Belleville Toastmasters Club has been helping people in Belleville, Ontario & the surrounding region for over 50 years. Our aim is to provide practical communication and leadership skills to help members become confident public speakers, presenters and leaders. You will find members who are just starting out and others who have years of experience. We offer a very supportive and encouraging environment to allow members to achieve their goals and improve their ability to speak in public. From September through to June, we meet the first and third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm (and the fifth Tuesday of the month when it occurs). Our venue is St. Thomas Anglican, 201 Church St. (Entrance off Bridge St.) in Belleville, ON. We always welcome guests! Email bellevilletoastmasters@gmail.com or show up at the noted date and time.
