Bridging Communities – Crochet Circle
Quinte Arts Council 36 Bridge St. E., BellevilleWhether you’re experienced with crochet, or just starting, please join us as we create crochet, learn new skills, and work together. These workshops are hosted by local artist, Emebet Belete. Emebet’s current art project is Bridging Communities, a large-scale art installation where community members will create crochet, and cover the downtown Front Street Bridge in stripes, blocks and patterns! Over the past year, she has taught and involved students in six area schools in the art of crochet. Open for youth and adults, experienced and beginners, individuals, families and friends! Young artists will explore their creativity through different techniques and mediums. We will be learning the fundamentals of drawing, understanding light and shadow, learning basic rules of composition, and using the elements of art and design in a supportive and encouraging environment. All materials will be provided. Come join our 8-week art sessions to explore, learn and create in drawing, painting, collage and 3d for ages 5-8 and 9-12. Session fee, $150. Plein Air in the Path of Totality
Meyers Pier 1 South Front Street, Belleville, Ontario, CanadaApril 8th 2024 join us in this unique celestial spectacle and be prepared to paint in the path of totality! The QAC will host a paint out at Myers Pier from 2pm to 4pm, Monday April 8th. Get a taste of what it’s like to paint En Plein Air and have the chance to paint in sun and darkness all at the same time! This event is FREE to join!! Complimentary solar eclipse glasses will be available for the first 20 attendees.
