The Parrott Gallery invites you to the Opening Reception for the 57th edition of PERSPECTIVES, the Belleville Art Association’s Annual Juried Show. The Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony takes place on Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. View an impressive exhibit of artworks submitted by the B.A.A.’s talented members, carefully selected by distinguished jurors. Two Short Plays: “Sea Wall” and “The Black Chair”

Theatre in the Wings 30 Bridge Street East, Belleville

Get ready to dive into the complicated and beautiful story of the human experience, with two unique and captivating plays. Witness a breathtaking solo performance in “Sea Wall” by Simon Stephens that will leave you on the edge of your seat. Explore the story of a devoted husband, a proud father, and a successful photographer named Alex, whose good fortune slips out from beneath his feet without warning, leaving Alex as a shell of the man he once was. Directed by Alex Crowther, and brought to life by the exceptional Toby Farrell. In “The Black Chair” written by Peter Paylor, audiences will uncover the intimate stories of fascinating characters as they interact with an old wooden chair. There’s James, an older gay man, he’s a “dandy”, and there’s Anne who works at the mall, she’s young and naïve. There’s Jeff, an engineer who keeps everything in, and Tina, who puts it all out there. And then there’s Mary, the caretaker. She’s the one with the keys. Featuring the dynamic directing duo of Alexandra Bell and Darren Moore and an all-star cast.

Agatha Raisin and the Quiche of Death

The Belleville theatre Guild welcomes you to the first play of the season! Agatha Raisin is a character created by M.C. Beaton in a series of books. This is the first story in the series. This murder mystery is full of comical characters and intriguing details to keep you engaged. The cast of 19 features many returning Belleville Theatre Guild actors and a number of actors new to our stage. The show runs Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 and Sundays at 2:00 pm. Opening night is Thursday, October 10th and the closing matinee is October 27th.

Gallery 121 – 2024 Fall Show

Gallery 121 is delighted to present our Fall Show with Guest artists Jacquelin Morin and James Walt. Jacqueline ‘s acrylic paintings are a fusion of Impression and Realism, created with loose brush strokes using vibrant hues. Much of her inspiration comes in her studio on Salerno Lake near Minden Ontario, hence the title of this show “Life by the Lake”. James Walt, A.K.A. “The Grumpsy Woodturner” lives in Quinte West. James craftmanship is self- taught; often learning through You Tube different ways to transform wood blocks into bowls and vases. He sees the hidden gems in these blocks and then works to bring them to life. The Featured Member Artist for this show is Dona Knudsen. Dona is an award-winning watercolor artist and a member of two Galleries in Belleville. Her subject for this show “Negative Spaces Positive Places” is nature and includes unique perspectives and interesting techniques to create her enchanting images. and glorious flowers

Founding member, Michel Karakach (Drummer), reunited with his best friend, Guitarist Armando Bablanian, to turn what was once a mere childhood dream into a powerful reality. Derev’s “Out Of This Mind” Eastern Canadian Tour is in support of the first single “Room 9” from their 2nd Album. Watch for the digital release on October 9th along with an animated video release on October 13th. Derev’s debut release “Leap of Faith” melds the raw energy of hard rock with the rich textures of traditional Middle-Eastern music they grew up with, offering a fresh perspective on topics often overlooked in modern music. Throughout the years, they’ve seen numerous lineup changes, name changes, and musical direction changes. But the one consistent was always Billy and Shane at the forefront the entire time!! Regardless of the continuous ups and downs, they continue to forge on with just the two of them at the helm. Under the Collusion name, Billy and Shane have released singles and now the newest full length album “Death became her”.
