Live Music: Geral McGrath

The Local Social House 211 Coleman St, Belleville

Join us April 19th for dinner or drinks anytime between 7PM-9PM and enjoy musician Gerald McGrath. With more than 20 years of shows under his belt, both as a solo artist and member of several bands, multi-instrumentalist Gerald McGrath is emerging as one of Kingston, Ontario’s favourite musical acts. Gerald has become known for his engaging and captivating performances that use live instruments and vocal looping to create sonic soundscapes that enthrall audiences. Gerald has been fortunate to share a stage with many excellent musicians over the years, including Kingston legend Spencer Evans, singer-songwriter Jen Calder, and Trevor Strong of The Arrogant Worms. Gerald has performed in bands that have played everything from alternative to folk, hard rock to country, and everything in between. Gerald has taken all of his experiences in those disparate genres and distilled them into his songwriting. Gerald’s original music takes the best parts of 90’s alternative and present-day indie music and blends them in a way that has drawn comparisons to The Gin Blossoms and The Watchmen. He is currently in the final stages of releasing his first album of original music as a solo artist. His first three singles, ‘Kenopsia,’ ‘Northern Lights,’ and ‘Afterlife’ are available on all streaming platforms. The full album, titled ‘This Is Fine’, is expected to be released in the fall of 2023 *This event is not ticketed and is for patrons of the restaurant. Belleville Theatre Guild: Hilda’s Yard

Belleville Theatre Guild 256 Pinnacle St, Belleville

Directed by Alexandra Bell Picture a summer day in 1956. The kids have finally moved out and you are ready to settle into your golden years with your spouse by your side before a shiny new television set. This is the vision that Sam and Hilda Fluck are enjoying. The laundry line is set, the drinks are in the fridge, and the sun is shining in the backyard. What could go wrong? As the day progresses and the Fluck yard and home become host to a cast of characters –some who do not even bother to use the door and arrive by fence–but Sam and Hilda realize that their dreams of an idyllic empty nest may have been nothing more than a delusion. Canadian playwright Norm Foster thrills again with a touching and heartfelt comedy that covers themes of life, love, and social change in the span of one day with the Flucks
