GALLERY 121 PRESENTS THEIR 2024 SPRING SHOW: APRIL 23RD – JUNE 1ST Our Guest Artist for the Spring show is Christine Walker Bird. Christine is a multi-talented artist who makes the composition of her threads dance to life in fabric arts which include elegantly detailed leather and fabric bags, table runners, wall hangings and much more. Christine’s show is entitled “Renewal”. Befitting as her alluring works primarily consist of a selection of re-purposed materials. The Featured Member Artist is David Alexander; a teacher, and world traveler, whose art has found homes in multiple continents including being presented to Pope Paul 11, and religious leaders of both the Jewish and Muslim faiths in Jerusalem. His powerful show is appropriately entitled “In Transit”. David is comfortable and excels in in many mediums as may be seen in his thought-provoking works. Christine, David, and the talented members of Gallery 121 will be present at an Opening Reception; April 27th between 2 and 4 p.m. Please join us to welcome spring!

Please join us at the gallery at 208 Front Street in downtown Belleville for the opening reception this Saturday May 18 from 2 – 4 pm. Beautiful paintings, artisan pieces and unique cards are on display depicting the blooms that surround us or artist choice.

Spring into Jazz – Dan Douglas and friends

Please join us for this one-time only concert – designed to put some Spring in your step – and some JAZZ in your Spring. DAN DOUGLAS and Friends – Michael Monis, Harry Ellis and Howard Rees are getting together for an evening of unforgetable music – and enjoy this unique musical experience – SPRING Into JAZZ. Dan Douglas – trombone, has been working as a freelance performer since the age of 17. His early experiences had him playing with many of the great jazz masters and his traditional jazz band, the Dixie Demons will celebrate 40 years this year. Dan resides in Foxboro, is a member of the Quinte Symphony Orchestra and this year received a Quinte Arts Council Arts Recognition Award. Michael Monis – guitar, is comfortable in any musical style, and and has actively performed for well over 30 years, Michael has toured extensively and worked both in studio and on stage with countless jazz greats from Moe Koffman to Jane Bunnett. Son of legendary guitar master Hank Monis, Michael currently resides in Millbrook, Ontario. Harry Ellis – drums, has had a long and varied career playing with such artists as Helen Reddy, Gary Lewis & the Playboys, Maria Muldaur, Tanya Tucker, Michelle Wright and Carol Baker. He has performed in jazz festivals in around the world with Milt Hinton, Buddy Tate, Warren Vache, Danny Moss and Roy Williamson, Peter Appleyard, Norm Amadio, Frank Wright, Michael Stewart, Bobby Fenton, George Koller, Hilario Duran, Luis Mario Ochoa and Bill McBirnie to name a few. Harry now resides in Prince Edward County. Howard Rees – bass, regularly performs on piano and bass with some of the area’s top musicians – and has performed with some of the greats in jazz including; Kenny Burrell, Jaki Byard, Ray Drummond, Slim Galliard, Barry Harris, Earl May, Charles McPherson, Akira Tana and Leroy Williams. Howard is an international teacher of jazz. His weekly zoom master class is attended by musicians iaround the globe. His Toronto based jazz workshop is now in its 39th year. He has founded the Belleville Jazz Festival, and established a jazz master class & jazz choir in Belleville. Pineapple Productions is pleased and proud to be able to present this opportunity celebrate Spring and enjoy this unique musical experience – SPRING Into JAZZ. PLEASE NOTE: Advance Tickets are available online only until midnight Thursday, May 30. Advance Tickets are not available on the day of the show. At-the-door Tickets are $30 (cash only).

Terry and David are both members of the Charlie Bird Band.
